You can find Crompton House easily.

Travelling from the north, leave the M6 at Shap, Junction 38, and follow the signs for Kendal and then Windermere. Travelling from the south, leave the M6 at South Lakes, Junction 36, and follow the signs for Windermere.

Upon reaching Windermere, follow the main road to Bowness and the Lake. We are approximately 100 yards past the clock monument and the modern built church on the left hand side of the road.

Windermere and Bowness

Are pretty villages in the heart of the Southern Lake District in Cumbria. There is plenty to see and do here: the World of Beatrix Potter™ Attraction, the Windermere Steamboat Museum, The Old Laundry Theatre, Windermere Lake Cruises and, of course, beautiful scenery.

Further a field are the honey pot towns of Ambleside, Grasmere (where you will find Dove Cottage, the home of William Wordsworth), Coniston, Hawkshead and Keswick, which are all within easy reach of Crompton House if you're looking for a day out. The outskirts of Cumbria such as Carlisle, the Eden Valley, the Lake District Peninsulas of Furness and Cartmel, and Cumbria's west coast are also all worthy of visits, offering a diverse range of scenery and local attractions.

It's little wonder that the Lake District is England's most popular tourist destination outside London!
